Abstract

It is proposed a possible solution to the lack of knowledge of the characteristics and properties of polygons by high school students. A design is presented of activities in GeoGebra, it´s taken the visualization who a useful ability for the presentation and learning of the polygons and characteristics since diagonals. In addition, levels and phases of the Van Hiele model are used for designing the activities [1]. It was observed the kind of knowledge that the students have, considering the definition of relational and instrumental comprehension given by Skemp in his book “The Psychology of Learning Mathematics”. From the analysis realized we can observe that, although the student’s level ranges between 1 and 2 of the Van Hiele model, the comprehension is not necessarily instrumental.
