Abstract

Zeolites are crystalline materials with a wide range of applications, the diversity of which is possible due to the properties of these materials. Among their inherent characteristics, it is known that zeolites can be modified with nanoparticles and clusters of other chemical species, which gives them novel properties and allows them to find unusual applications. Therefore, the practical use of these materials can be improved by searching for new modification methods and studying the resulting materials. The objective of this work is to evaluate the results of the mechanochemical modification of zeolite A with copper. Zeolite A was synthesized according to standard methodology and then mixed with copper sulfate and subjected to milling. The original zeolite A and copper-modified zeolite CuA were examined by SEM, UV-Vis, and XRD. Subsequently, the characteristics of both samples were compared and the effect of the mechanochemical attack was studied.
